Conservation Detection Services

When it comes to finding wildlife, sometimes the best survey tool has four legs.

ALLSORTS Conservation Detection Dogs provides professional detection dog services to support ecological research, threatened species conservation and environmental management across Australia. Our experienced handler and highly trained dogs can locate target species and biological evidence quickly, accurately and with minimal disturbance to the surrounding environment.

Combining more than 25 years of professional dog training experience with a strong understanding of ecological survey techniques, we deliver reliable detection dog teams that complement traditional field surveys, drone technology and thermal imaging. By increasing detection rates and helping focus survey effort, our dogs provide valuable data that supports informed conservation and land management decisions.

Our dogs are trained to locate a range of target species and biological evidence, including greater gliders, koala scats, European red foxes and cane toads. We also develop project-specific detection programs for additional species and specialise in training dogs to locate elevated odours associated with arboreal mammals and active tree hollows.

We work with environmental consultants, government agencies, researchers, conservation organisations and land managers on projects including threatened species surveys, biodiversity assessments, environmental approvals, pest animal management, ecological research, and pre- and post-fire monitoring.

Every project is different, and we tailor our detection services to meet the specific objectives, species and environments involved.
