Snake Avoidance Workshop
8th of March, 2026

Debbie the Header Trainer of Allsorts Dog Behaviour & Training Services will be conducting a one day practical workshop to learn how to keep your dogs safe from snakes, and potentially how to keep native reptiles safe from your dog.

About the Workshop

In this practical hands-on workshop, Debbie will guide you through a programme to help make your dog safer from snakes, whether you are present or not. The goal is to prevent bites by teaching the dog to retreat or avoid the sight and/or the smell of snakes, offering peace of mind.

Live Snake

A live, non-venomous, snake will be used for snake avoidance training. Both the snake and your dogs will be
protected from one another during the training.

**Snake avoidance training offers no guarantees against bites, as no training for living beings is 100% foolproof, but it significantly reduces risk by teaching dogs to avoid the sight and smell of snakes, with the effectiveness depending on consistent training, refresher sessions (often annual), and the dog’s individual response.
